When did you make the last payment? What state? Do you have any records (old bills, cancelled checks, old credit reports) the may show the date of last activity. And does this attorney work for the C.A. itself (then he'd fall under the FDCPA). Start searching your records now. I think it's terrible that it's come to the point where everyone has to keep years & years of documents to protect their credit, etc.
