Understanding charge offs

Hello everybody,
I have been reading this forum for several weeks. I have tried to take in all I can regarding charge offs, but am becoming very confused. Can anyone give me a push in the right direction? I have 3 charge offs from 2 years ago: 1)discover $3500-now being handled by First Select 2)Bank of America $2500-being handled by NCO 3)Providian $3500-I think a CC called DCI. Now my question: What is the best way of handling these? Do I try and negotiate with the CC or the original creditors? I am desperate to take care of these things. Do I go for validation through the CRA first? I am at wits end on this!! Any help is appreciated!
