Settlement offer

I owe Capital One $1200. A collection agency just offered me a settlement on this amount if I make a payment to FMA Alliance for 50% of this amount this is settled. However the collection agency is also charging me interest. I am willing to settle however I am not paying the collection agency any interest.
If I do settle with them and send them a money order and do not include their amount what would happen?
