The FDCPA only applies to 3rd party collection agents, not the original creditor.

You may wish to recontact your mortgage holder and see if there is some way of taking care of the problem other than the arrangements you have made.

The companies usually have a fairly automated proccess for contacting past accounts, very difficult to stop.

Some mortgage companies can restructure your mortgage so as to have a few "skip months" where it extends the term of your mortgage, but gets you caught up to date.Or -you might be able to have it rewritten, or get an additional line of credit that can be used for mortgage payments when you are having a bad month.
