Definitely call the new number Equifax gave for
Bank Of America. It sounds like they sold the debt
to some third-party collection agency, so BofA
considers itself to be finished with it in terms
of an collection attempts (thus, the zero balance.)

If the other two bureaus respond to your dispute by
saying the account is verified, be sure to ask them
for the exact contact information for whoever (at
BofA) confirmed it. If that is different from what
Equifax has, call or write and ask if they can tell
you what company they sold it to.

If you are dealing with a reasonably friendly and
motivated mortage broker, maybe you could explain
the situation and see if the zero balance listed
is close enough in *appearance* to having the
charge-off paid, or if the mortgage lender is likely
to figure out that it is still floating around
somewhere, even though the sold-off balance-due
isn't explicitly listed on you credit reports.

I would *not* suggest disputing the item again
within a short period of time, as this could cause
the credit bureaus to simply reject your dispute
as "frivolous and irrelevant" (i.e. that you are
lying to them about information that you know to
be correct.) Wait at least six months.

Good Luck.
