HIPAA = Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Basically its a HUGE Act protecting private patient information. Its full implementation and enforcement was mandated as of April 14th and it is strictly enforced. Now when you go to any health care facility, including the Pharmacy, you will be asked to sign forms stating that you've been informed about HIPAA. You will also be asked to sign release forms.. which you DO NOT have to sign. That is what WhyChat is referring to.
