I sent a letter requesting validation to the CA for my debt. Ater 25 days they responded with a big packet that contained print outs of random (not every month) of account statements for the last seven years (the account has been open 10 years). They didn't provide me with the information that they should have according to this article: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/forms/sampleletter9.shtml (no signed contract, no agreement with creditor that allows them to collect on the debt, etc.) In the letter they sent, they said that "in their opinion" and the "client's position", these documents allegedly "sufficiently demonstrate" that this obligation is owed by me. They just seem lazy, but did they violate the FDCPA? Should I send them another letter requesting all the information, including all the statements since the account was opened? Should I tell them they're in violation of the FDCPA? Threaten to sue? Thanks.
