Hi, I in Missouri and have a guy banging on my door trying to serve papers for a suit between Unifund CCR Partners and myself over a old Providian Credit Card. I found out from case.net. I haven't opened the door yet to get the papers. Court date is sometime in March. I think the last time I made any payments was in 99 or 00. What should I do now? Is Unifund CCR licensed in MO? I've read they've lost suits because of that. I'm only around 5k in debt but still thinking of chapter 13. Problem is my house is worth about 70-80k and I only owe $50,000. I bought the house from my parents in '98 and they're carrying 20k to make my payments cheaper. Can I file chapter 13 with that much equity? I'd love to be able to do a loan on the equity but my credit bad and no one will do it. I don't have any money to pay anything to anyone. I'm unemployed but don't want to loose my house either. Help, please point me in the right direction. Thank You
