I have a Charged Off debt that is 3 years old, I live in Texas(SOL not expired). I get a collection notice about twice a month from Northland Group, Inc, which states the current creditor Sherman Acquisition L.L.C. will allow you to settle . . . The letter states that the original creditor was Bank One. Best guess is that I have a CA collecting a debt owned by another CA. If I Cease and Desist Northland as they are the one sending the notice, can Sherman Acquisition still use another patsy to collect on their behalf, this could go on and on. Obviously I don't feel compelled to pay a debt that's been charged off and dang sure not gonna pay to a firm that's not even a creditor. Does anyone have any advice on this sort of collection tactic.
