Illegal to tell a bill collector?

I have an issue with a bill collecor (or two) coming to my house looking for my husband as well as his partner. They haven't been able to find the partner, he is never at the office or his "home" (bought by the company). My husband is no longer with the company, but was part owner, so I understand why they are coming here.

I had a nasty call from the partners astranged wife today threatining to get her lawyers involved because I told a bill collector that they may be able to find him there. NOT that he "lived" there. She said that is not his LEGAL residence. I have not told anyone that it is. I don't believe that he is supposed to be staying there, there was once a domestic problem, but they have worked some out, but still aren't legally back "together". Anyway, that may be why she is so upset.

Have I done anything illegal?

Not sure if this is appropriate for this forum, but since it is to do with bill collectors, thought I'd try.

Thanks!
