I think we have some confusion here. PDI is a collection agent. They OWN the original debt. If you would pull yor Experian credit reort, on line, you can see when it is scheduled to be removed. Deduct 7 years & 1 month from THAT "come off" date.

I cannot believe you were still paying on a regular account to the original creditor within the past year if you have been paying PDI since last Jan. It doesn't add up.

In addition, from the tactics they are using, I do not believe this is a "1st tier" collection agency. Your delinquency on the original account would have to have been at least 2 years ago or more for it to be in their hands.

As to the threats of lawsuit, I REALLY think you are not subject to that threat, I base my impression on the tactics of the CA who would not be threatening you this way (illegally)if they really COULD file a law suit.

Have you checked your credit reports to see how this and your other accounts are being reported?
