I bought a guide online to settle all of my cc debt which included a step by step process w/ sample C&D letters, offers to settle, etc. So far so good, most of my accounts have been sent off to CA's, a couple of which were willing to settle for 30% over a few months payments. I have 2 Household Accts. that have been sent to attorney's offices; Wolpoff & Abramson and Edward T. Burke & Assoc. When I got there letters I responded with a C&D and a Limited Power of Attorney showing my "settlement co." was handling the matter. I received a call from both and explained that "my client" (me) was unable to make payments and was trying to set aside funds to ultimately settle the account and would not be able to offer anything at this time. Edward T. Burke said they would notate the call and pursue the client without any further comunication with the settlement co. or the client. W&A said they would delay action for a min. payment or settle for about 70% in the next 2 weeks. What do I do?? So far I've been lucky but what if they get a judgement against me? then what? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
