information on ca or cc suing please

I live in North Carolina, at this moment only my husband works, I am waiting for disability (just had hearing and was told it could take additional 3 - 6 months to start receiving any. From what I understand in NC your salary cannot be garnished. http://www.nclabor.com/wh/garnishments.htm my husband works for a small company less than 50 employees owned and operated only in NC. We don't own any homes at the moment, and I am transferring our paid car over to my son. I do have another car the payments are current and I can keep them that way. What else could the CA or CC sue me for or put a judgement on me for?? thanks
