I have about a half-dozen cards, all with fairly large balances that have fallen behind. Haven't paid in about 2- 4 months on them and the calls of course keep coming from the collection departments. I am able to give them a small amount of $10 - $40 each but they say not to bother. It's like talking to the wall with them. My question is, if I show that I am at least trying to send them something, will this keep any lawsuits away for the time being or won't it make a difference. Afraid they will do that eventually because of some large balances on some cards. Any information would be helpful. My location is Florida.
