Collection Leading to Judgement/Lawsuit

Help!!! I'm still in college and i have a collection agency harassing me and now they said they were turning my account back to citibank where they'll sue me. What am i supposed to do, i'm broke and don't know where to turn. Do i wait for a lawsuit or is it a judgement and how does a judgement work, will i be thrown in jail?
